Our Services

For after hour/holiday emergencies please call Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Peterborough at 705-741-5832.

  • Preventative medicine offers you the opportunity to care for your pet in a proactive manner. We offer vaccines based on risk management, medical assessments, wellness testing, flea, tick and deworming medications, microchipping, as well as nutritional and behavioural consultations.

  • Prescription diet foods offer therapeutic nutrition for a range of health conditions. They’re clinically tested and developed by a team of PhD nutritionists and veterinarians, so you can rest assured your pet is receiving premium nutrition backed by science. If your pet is facing a specific health condition, or you sense they need additional support, schedule an appointment with your vet and ask how a prescription diet can help.

  • Haliburton Veterinary Services has several diagnostic capabilities including both full body and dental x-rays as well as ultrasound. We offer in-house blood, urine and fecal testing, as well as cytology, blood pressure measurements, ECG monitoring, and both otoscopic and ophthalmic testing such as tonometry, schrimer tear tests and fluorescein staining. For specialized testing we send out to a variety of certified laboratories.

  • A vast array of medical issues may be causing you and your furry friend issues. We are equipped to diagnose and treat diseases ranging from, but not limited to, parasites, allergies, cancer, as well as eye, ear, kidney, endocrine, liver, musculoskeletal, urinary and cardiopulmonary disease.

  • From spays and neuters to wound repairs, dental procedures and mass removals our approach to surgical intervention is well rounded.

  • Referral to specialists including ophthalmologists, radiologists, internal medicine specialists, oncologists and orthopaedic surgeons are provided as needed.

  • Euthanasia is a difficult and heart wrenching time for clients. As much as we know we are offering mercy to pets who are suffering, we are also losing the ones we love. In order to try and make this experience a little less difficult we offer the option of in-clinic, or if possible, at-home euthanasia.

  • Appointments may be scheduled as in-clinic or as mobile appointments. Mobile service is dependent on availability. We may ask that the animal be seen in the clinic if we feel that diagnostics or surgery need to be performed, as well as if we cannot facilitate an at home appointment quickly when it is needed.
